But none of these things really work well. As opposed to, say, Zoo Tycoon: Dinosaur Digs where you have to give dinosaurs the right type of terrain and foliage, creating a dinosaur exhibit in Dino Island is simplicity itself.

You just have to specify how big the exhibit should be and how often farmers should deliver food to it, and you’re done. So there isn’t anything to it. As for dinosaur shows, they end up being pretty boring. Part science lab, part amusement park, your job is both to create and modify known dinosaurs to be shown to the public in your very own dinosaur theme park.

Though the game is more oriented towards creating the park, there is still some detail in your ability to clone, modify, and create different dinosaurs based on genetic patterns.

Most of this revolves around park finances’if your Tyrannosaurus isn’t bringing in the customers, maybe something new will. Even so, this addition adds a bit of depth to a somewhat lightweight sim. In a more or less near future, scientists have managed to recreate dinosaurs. In order to fund research, government has set up dinosaur-themed amusement parks that the player will manage. However, it is rendered in full 3D – players can rotate, pan and zoom at will. Dinosaurs, staff and visitors are fully animated.
